"Moving toward a greater good"
This page was created to provide general information for the Columbus Forward community. It will consist of interviews, presentations, and other "In The Know" matters. Thank you for the support you give to Columbus Forward. We are going to unite communities one neighborhood at-a-time.
Law enforcement is a courageous way to give back to any community, but what are the actual realities? Customarily, when reporters and other groups familiarize us with the hazards of those miserable, despicable institutions, they always assess details relative to the abnormal behaviors of the inmates and the unprofessional conduct of the officers, but no one ever focuses on the reformatory leaders. Please take this opportunity to avoid standing on the outside looking in. I think you should know what really goes on in the lives of the ones we are supposed to admire, follow, and trust without hesitation.

Excerpt from page 100:
“Speaking of wall displays, there was a special plaque I always questioned. That particular plaque stood out from all the rest. To this day, I believe the plaque was a silent decree on behalf of Morehouse C. I. I never got the chance to figure out its true meaning before it was suspiciously taken away. That individual plaque was something else! It was located on the front entrance wall of the lobby, and after reading the plaque for the first time, it was easy to understand why Morehouse was a “Horse of A Different Color.”
Mike Collum has done a great job educating the students about the benefits of absinence before marriage. His personal story captured their attention from the beginning. During this video clip, Mr. Collum asked the class which group might have the best sex: singles are married couples. It is good to hear how our young people responded.
Ms. Kay Ferrell volunteered to provide the students, attending the A. J. McClung YMCA, with a series of classes on nutrition throughout summer camp. During this video, the students are required to put together a meal that covers the five major food groups. The responses reflect greatly on Ms. Kay's training.
Mr. Mike Collum volunteered to provide a much needed class about the importance of abstinence to the students attending summer camp at the A. J. McClung YMCA. The presentation took place on June 23, 2009. He is scheduled to return on Thursday, June 25th.
