B.R.I.D.G.E.

The following pictures were taken during the B.R.I.D.G.E. completion ceremony of Class 03-2011, June 2011 at Fourth Street Church  in Columbus, Georgia.  B.R.I.D.G.E. has a 85% graduation rating.  It is a 12-week intensive course open to students ages 18 - 24.  Please click on the first picture or other selection to start the slide show.

During each class, Mr. Willie Coleman (Director, B.R.I.D.G.E.) allows me the opportunity to speak with the students about life experiences and goals.  I am so thankful for the opportunity and time spent with each group.  They teach me so many things about their world.  I try to share with them the importance of assessing their current status based on my family's motto, "Each Generation Must Do Better."  I ask them to measure their success against the successes of their ancestors.  I want them to understand that they must do better than their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.  They must know their past in order to plan their future.  If we only achieve the goals of our ancestors, then we have failed to move the next generation forward.  I have been a supporter of B.R.I.D.G.E. since I was introduced to Mr. Coleman in 2005.  I thank God for the work of the board and staff every day.  Please show your support by becoming one of a thousand people to donate $1.00 to the organization for a minimum of four months.  If you join me in this effort, we can donate $4,000.00 in four months.  Do it for the next generation.  Scroll to the bottom of this page and read about the Columbus On The Move Project.

Columbus On The Move Project

I am asking 1,000 people to join me in sending $1.00 for four months or $4.00 (total) to B.R.I.D.G.E. Adult Education Center, P.O. Box 1083, Columbus, Georgia 31902 to show the students that a village cares about their future.

Columbus on the Move Project is a grassroots project desinged to empower citizens and organizations to come together as a unified team to provide financial assistance to organizations that could use community support.  The success of this project is to generate more than 1,000 citizens to donate $1.00 toward a worthy cause .  The donations may last one month or several months based on the need.

Why just $1.00?  One dollar gives all citizens an opportunity to participate in a worthwhile project/movement and shows the power of what one dollar is able to accomplish when people come together for one cause.
